From the center of Heraklion (Eleytherias Square) you follow Kalokerinou St. until the end, you cross the venetian walls and follow 62 Martyron St. until you reach the intersection Giofyro (1). You turn left and  follow the signs to the University Hospital until you reach intersection (2). In the intersection (3), about 500m before the University Hospital, you turn right and you follow the signs to FO.R.T.H. You cross the  buildings of the Physics and Biology Depts. and in about 300m you turn right (4), the FO.R.T.H. building is on the left hand side.

By public bus

There is a bus going directly from the center of the city to FO.R.T.H. You can take the bus from the bus station in front of Cinema Astoria (Eleytherias Square). The price of the one-way ticket is 0,85 Euros and you can buy it form the special small kiosk in the bus station or from any other kiosk.  The bus schedule is the following :
