As part of the Marie Curie Research Training Network,
"Modeling, Mathematical Methods and Computer Simulation of
Tumour Growth and Therapy" the Institute for Applied and
Computational Mathematics at the Foundation for Research and
Technology - Hellas, is inviting applications for
research positions, at the pre-doctoral
level.
The project will involve close collaboration with experimental researchers
and will be examining aspects of cellular migration and
chemotaxis, esp. in relation to tumor biology. The project aims at
developing state-of-the-art computational tools for cell biology.
The terms of the position(s) are:
- 6 - 17 month full-time, early stage research position (approx 26.500EU/yr + mobility
and travel allowances)
Successfull candidates should have a degree in mathematics, applied mathematics,
engineering, physics, computer science or related discipline. A knowledge of
PDEs and numerical solution of PDEs is desired. Knowledge of cell biology will
be also an advantage.
Eligibility: Early State Researchers must not have more than 4 years
of research experience (full-time equivalent) since gaining a university diploma giving them access to doctoral studies. Time spent in compulsory
military service or
maternity leave are exempt.
Nationality restrictions
- Applicants cannot be Greek citizens. In addition, at the start of their fellowship / activity, researchers may not have resided or carried out their main
activity (work, studies, etc) in Greece for more than 12 months in the 3 years
immediately prior to the start date.
